When someone asks me, “Who’s the person you admire the most?” I am in real fix .There is an endless list of people whom I admire, but the chord which really struck me was first job acquaintance with a HR manager, Mrs. Jadhvani. She was humble nature and distinctively strong charismatic character. She was well dressed in her crisp white shirt and a black formal skirt. These are the qualities that make me look up to someone...
Since then I started taking deep interest in this lucrative career. Human resources are a blended workforce for the success of any organization. It is just like oxygen from the air which every individual needs for proper functioning of the body.
The roots of employee development emerged in ancient times when army wanted proper delegation of the jobs and tasks, an enduring relationship of the craftsmen and the apprentiencies .The apprentiencies lived in workshops of the master and the master took care of their health and welfare.
The HR industry witnessed some tremendous changes after globalization. It was also going through a tremendous transformation, but these setbacks did not dampen spirits.
As Lawrence Bossidy rightly said “Nothing we do is important than hiring people. At the end you bet on great people not strategies”
The features of a selfless mother working for a family can be compared to roles of a HR in the firm. He is multitasker, admistrator, performance reviewer. He sees documentation, grievances, benchmarking, scheduling absenteeism policies, terminations, compensation and benefits ,managing big data, training.A philanthropic who works with affirmity for welfare of the people.
A person can work as placement manager, International Human Resources Associate, Labour relations Specialist, Consultant, Training and Development Manager, Compensation and Benefits Manager .The HR analytics field is also on a rising boom in the market.
In my leisure time I do not forget to catch on good reading of blogs, books, news articles get updated on recent trends in HR. My most beautiful moments are didi and me discussing trends during our coffee session. Admist the beautiful view I also see the zeal in her eyes for the profession. Let me tell you that my didi is working with Wipro as a consultant for many years down the line. Through my recent conversation with her I came to know about how the use of talent websites, video job interviews, mobile optimization techniques used, Behaviorally Anchored Ratings, cloud based system, have contributed to working efficiently. I am seeking constant advice from my angle which helps me to become better.
Ayojendra Mukerjee,Nandita Gurjar, are prominent faces from India while Felicia Fields,Hollie Dealaney from the west. Today’s HR sector has opened doors for creativity and innovation to face cut throat competition. Adobe ,Google ,Starbucks,Deloitte have created best HR departments.
A person who is ethically organized, communicates flawlessly, a problem solver expertise in the field and also possess leaderships skills is appreciated. I always see these qualities in my HR department as well as the placement cell of VESIM.VBx is also one of the initiatives by the college to look out for.
As a bud blooms into a beautiful flower so as the HR career surpassing all the fits and challenges. I would love to be part of this voyage and make my own experiences and turn out as an emerging leader and proudly say Yes, HR is a mesmerizing career for the passionate ones.
HR a guide ,employees first friend.
For distance between the organization and employees they mend.
Lets thank and take collective efforts for its growth.
You and me as a both!!
