Basic 16, The International Conference, From 10th – 12th November 2016
VESIM organized the International Conference - "Big Data Analytics and Smart Cities International Conference 2016" on 10th & 12th November, 2016. The conference served as a platform for exchange of ideas on big data and business analytics, and their role in creating a sustainable business world.
The conference comprised of four events -
- Research papers presentation on Data Analytics & Smart Cities by corporate and academic members.
- Experts’ sessions on Data Analytics and Smart Cities
- Exhibition – a platform to showcase products & services used in the making of Smart Cities.
- “Smart City Smart Idea” Competition for students

- Twenty speakers of national and international fraternity from the field of Analytics shared their expertise and experiences with the audience.
- Twenty one researchers from industry and academics presented their research work on various topics in Data Analytics and Smart Cities.
- Twelve companies participated in the exhibition
- Twelve groups of students presented their ideas on making of the smart cities in various sectors such as healthcare, waste management, sanitation, communication and traffic control.
- The students of Don Bosco Engineering College bagged the first price of INR 50,000. The second and the third prize went to the students of VESIM.
- BASIC16 was covered by the media with lots on news covering the Smart City Smart Idea Contest.
